Projects: Everything you need to know

  • Updated

Often, getting business done is more than simply connecting with another company. When you need a repeatable process to capture approvals or specific workflows, you can use the Projects feature on Graphite Connect. This feature enables you to build and customize a workflow for any process your organization has–from contracts to contingent worker requests to much more. Additionally, you can chain together existing workflows to build complex processes. For example, if certain requests require additional approvals before onboarding a connection, you can create a custom project template that adds approvals to the front of the standard Graphite Onboarding workflow.

Creating custom projects

To create a custom project template, you’ll first need to map out the linear and concurrent steps of the process you want to make. Once the steps are mapped, you can contact your Customer Success Manager to finalize and implement your project into Graphite. Note that you can request to add specific projects as quick links to your user’s homepages.

How to find your projects

Homepage

Any active projects you initiate or contribute to will show up on your homepage in the “My Items” section. The collapsed view will show high-level information like the name and status of your project. Expanding a project will reveal a more detailed view that includes a visual workflow and a table of current and pending tasks.

The Projects page

You can easily find all your projects by navigating to the Projects page from the top navigation bar. Clicking this navigation item will direct you to the Projects page, which will display your organization’s open projects. Work with your Customer Success Manager to customize what data columns display on this page.

Project Details page

You can find the details page of a project by clicking either the project name on the homepage or the Projects page. At the top of the details page, you can find the collaboration section, including all related messages, tasks, and approvals pertaining to the project. Clicking on any of these items will open a drawer, allowing you to dive deeper into the collaboration tool you selected.

Below the top section, you’ll find a visual workflow, providing you with a quick view of all the past, current, and future steps of the project. Below the workflow, you’ll see the project information. The information gathered here is determined by the implementation built by your organization and your Graphite Customer Success Manager.

Shared Projects

Projects are internal items by default, meaning only people from your organization can see and manage them. If you have a project that requires input and tasks completed by one of your connections, you can create a shared project. To do so, simply set the project type as shared and add your suppliers to the project. Each added supplier can view the project and complete tasks assigned to them. To enable shared projects, contact your customer success manager.
