International Tax IDs Validation Process

  • Updated

Graphite verifies and validates International tax identification numbers with various government websites and open-source tools to ensure the numbers provided are accurate and valid. Depending on the country, a valid certificate can be requested to verify the number and legal name match.

The validation process is as follows:

  1. Tax ID verification. The number will be verified against the corresponding website or tool to review its matching to the legal name. If the tax ID number and the legal name don’t match the records, the Graphite team will either request additional supporting documents to continue the process or the information update depending on the case.
  2. Document verification. Depending on the country, documents can be required or requested in order to verify the authenticity of the tax IDs compared to the Legal Company Name. The documents are reviewed by checking the issuing entity and checked against open-source examples to mitigate possible fraud.
